Septic Dye Testing & Evaluation
Septic Dye Testing & Evaluation Procedures are non-invasive, require no excavation, and are generally limited to what can be viewed above the ground surface. A septic dye test can expose obvious leaks and inadequacies in the system and indicate the need for repairs or alterations. It involves the introduction of a fluorescent dye into the septic system, which is “traced” to ascertain that the septic system can handle the volume of waste that is currently being put through it. The septic dye test is sometimes REQUIRED as part of a Septic Certification by a lending institution before financing can be obtained from them for a home purchase.
Well Water Flow Testing & Evaluation
When buying a home without access to a municipal water supply, you should consider having the water flow test to determine if the water supply will meet the needs of the household. Nothing is more disheartening than running out of water, or buying a home and then discovering that you will need to have a new well drilled. Water Flow and Yield Testing takes some of the guesswork out of that equation. While the test only establishes the reliability of the water supply at the time of testing, it can give a home buyer some indication of the volume of water at hand.
Water Quality Test
The National Ground Water Association (NGWA) recommends well owners test their water at least annually for bacteria, nitrates, and any contaminants of local concern. If there is a change in the taste, odor, or appearance of the well water, or if a problem occurs such as a broken well cap, inundation by floodwaters, or a new contamination source. Water quality test is sometimes REQUIRED by a lending institution before financing can be obtained from them for a home purchase.
